Oasis fans left fuming over “worst announcement”

Oasis fans were left feeling let down after a highly anticipated announcement turned out to be much less significant than expected.

Earlier this year, the Britpop band revealed they would reunite for a series of concerts in 2025, and tickets quickly sold out. With fans eagerly speculating about the possibility of a new album, Radio X teased a major announcement for November 25. However, the big reveal turned out to be a giveaway of two tickets for one of the band’s Wembley Stadium shows next summer.

Fans took to social media to express their frustration, with one user commenting, “The big Oasis announcement was Chris Moyles giving away two tickets at 6:30 in the morning.” Others were equally disappointed, calling it “one of the biggest letdowns ever” and “the worst announcement.”

The backlash continued following the band’s reunion announcement, particularly regarding Ticketmaster’s “dynamic pricing” model, which caused ticket prices to rise with demand. After tickets went on sale, Oasis issued a statement clarifying that they were unaware of Ticketmaster’s pricing strategy. They emphasized that decisions about ticketing were made by their promoters and management, and they had not anticipated the use of dynamic pricing.

The band explained that while they had agreed on a ticketing strategy with the goal of keeping prices fair and reducing scalping, the high demand led to execution issues that fell short of their expectations. Despite these challenges, the band and their team had made every effort to create a positive experience for fans.

In addition to their UK and Ireland shows, Oasis will tour North America, South America, Japan, South Korea, and Australia in 2025.
