Tonight’s Late Late Show will feature a variety of guests, including the parents of Saoirse Ruane, who inspired the Toy Show Appeal, as well as Tommy Tiernan and Tommy Bowe.
After completing a successful tour in North America, comedian Tommy Tiernan will join host Patrick Kielty to discuss his experiences performing in the U.S. during the presidential election. He will also share his passion for traveling by tour bus and talk about taking his Tommedian show to audiences across Ireland and Europe in the coming months. Additionally, Tiernan will discuss the ninth season of his chat show and the guests he’d like to feature.
The show will also cover the 2024 General Election results, with Kielty joined by Katie Hannon, David McCullagh, and Jennifer Bray, the Political Correspondent for The Irish Times. Together, they will discuss the joint Exit Poll conducted by RTÉ, The Irish Times, TG4, and Trinity College Dublin in partnership with Ipsos B&A, just after polling stations close.
Roseanna and Ollie Ruane, the parents of Saoirse Ruane, will appear on the show ahead of next week’s Late Late Toy Show. Saoirse, who passed away in March at the age of 12 after battling a rare form of cancer, touched the nation when she appeared on the Toy Show in 2020 at age eight. Her appearance inspired the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal.
Tommy Bowe will also be a guest, talking about his new skincare line, Flow by Bowe, and discussing his reunion with former coach Joe Schmidt. He’ll also share his thoughts on Ireland’s upcoming match against Australia and reflect on his rugby career and life after retirement.
To celebrate her 40th year in music, Galway singer Mary Coughlan will perform her hit song “I’d Rather Go Blind” ahead of the final leg of her anniversary tour in Ireland next month.
The Late Late Show airs on RTÉ One at 9:35 pm tonight.
