Fuel prices have once again risen this month, according to the latest AA Ireland Fuel Survey. The cost of petrol increased by one cent, bringing the average price to €1.74 per litre, while diesel prices went up by three cents, reaching €1.71 per litre.
AA Ireland pointed out that crude oil prices have remained stable, hovering around $73 per barrel.
Electric car owners also experienced a slight rise in their annual costs. On average, electric vehicle drivers are now expected to pay €816.62 per year to cover 17,000 km.
Jennifer Kilduff, Head of Marketing & PR at AA Ireland, emphasized that maintaining your vehicle properly and reducing driving speed during the winter can boost fuel efficiency. Basic vehicle checks, including tire pressure, fluid levels, and removing unnecessary weight, such as roof racks, can all contribute to better fuel economy and overall vehicle performance.
