A man has been detained in connection with a murder investigation following the death of a woman in Gorey, Co Wexford. The woman, in her 30s, was discovered unresponsive when gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident at a home in the Baile Eoghain area shortly after 3am this morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The arrested man, also in his 30s, is currently being held at a garda station in the eastern region of the country. Gardaí have stated that their investigations are ongoing.
The Garda Technical Bureau will conduct a forensic examination of the scene this morning. The Office of the State Pathologist and the local Coroner have been informed, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted on the woman’s body.
