Passengers are being informed that train schedules have been adjusted as many people are expected to travel on public transport on Christmas Eve. Iarnród Éireann recommends that passengers book their tickets in advance.
DART and commuter trains are running on a regular Saturday schedule, with the last trains departing between 7:25 PM and 9:00 PM. The final train from Dublin Heuston to Portlaoise leaves at 7:45 PM, and the last train from Portlaoise to Dublin departs at 7:25 PM.
The last service from Dublin Connolly to Maynooth is at 8:17 PM, and the final train from Maynooth to Dublin Connolly is at 9:08 PM. The last train to M3 Parkway leaves Clonsilla at 8:50 PM, with the return service from M3 Parkway at 9:08 PM.
For the Dublin Connolly to Drogheda route, the final departure is at 8:18 PM, and the last train from Drogheda to Dublin leaves at 7:48 PM. The last DART from Malahide leaves at 9:03 PM, while the final service from Bray departs at 8:57 PM.
The Phoenix Park Tunnel Commuter route will run a reduced schedule, with the last train from Hazelhatch to Grand Canal Dock at 6:52 PM, and the final service in the opposite direction at 7:45 PM.
Cork commuter lines will also follow a Saturday schedule until around 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM. The last train to Cobh departs Cork at 8:00 PM, and the return service from Cobh is at 8:30 PM. The final Cork to Midleton train leaves at 8:15 PM, with the last return service at 8:45 PM.
Iarnród Éireann has announced that there will be no train services on Christmas Day and St. Stephen’s Day. Luas services will end at 8:00 PM on Christmas Eve, with no services on Christmas Day. Luas will resume at 9:00 AM on St. Stephen’s Day.
Dublin Bus will operate a weekday schedule on all routes, with the last departures around 9:00 PM, even on routes that usually run 24 hours. There will be no bus services in Dublin on Christmas Day. On St. Stephen’s Day, a Sunday service will be in operation, with certain routes starting from 5:00 AM.
