Alexander-Arnold Moved by Liverpool Fans’ Emotional Send-Off

On May 25, 2025, Liverpool concluded their Premier League-winning season with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Anfield. The match served as a farewell for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is set to depart the club after a 20-year association.

Alexander-Arnold entered the match at halftime, marking his 354th appearance for Liverpool. Unlike his previous home game, where he faced boos following the announcement of his departure, this time he received a warm reception from the fans. After the final whistle, he participated in the trophy presentation, lifting the Premier League trophy and acknowledging the supporters.

The 26-year-old right-back, a product of Liverpool’s academy, has been instrumental in the club’s recent successes, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League victory. His decision to leave upon contract expiry has been met with mixed reactions, but the final home game showcased a reconciliatory atmosphere.

Alexander-Arnold is expected to join Real Madrid, where he will reunite with fellow England international Jude Bellingham. Liverpool had previously rejected a January bid from the Spanish club, but his move now appears imminent.

The match also featured a goal from Mohamed Salah, who secured a record-equaling 47 goal contributions for the season. Despite the draw, the day was marked by celebrations, with former manager Jürgen Klopp and club legends Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson in attendance. The event concluded with a lap of honor and the traditional singing of “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” encapsulating the emotional farewell for Alexander-Arnold.
