Atl. Madrid vs Getafe Prediction: 15/12/2024

Atlético Madrid has been in excellent form, securing five consecutive wins in La Liga, which has reinvigorated their title ambitions alongside Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Their recent victories include a 2-0 win over Las Palmas, a 1-0 win against Mallorca, a 2-1 triumph over Alaves, and a commanding 5-0 victory against Real Valladolid.

Their latest match saw them come from behind to win 4-3 against Sevilla FC at the Metropolitano, with Antoine Griezmann scoring twice. This victory marked their 10th straight win, following a 3-1 Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava where Griezmann also scored twice.

On the other hand, Getafe has had an inconsistent season. They managed a tight 1-0 victory over Espanyol Barcelona, a team fighting relegation. They also secured a home win against Valladolid (2-0), but were defeated 2-0 at the Bernabéu by Real Madrid, with Kylian Mbappé netting a spectacular goal. Getafe has struggled in away matches, failing to secure a win in La Liga this season with five losses and two draws on the road.

Atlético Madrid’s injury concerns have lessened, with only Thomas Lemar still recovering, although he did return for their Champions League match. Antoine Griezmann remains in top form with seven goals and four assists, while Rodrigo De Paul, Argentina’s World Cup-winning midfielder, has also been crucial, scoring in key moments. Conversely, Getafe will miss holding midfielder Mauro Arambarri due to suspension, and several other players are injured, including Borja Mayoral, who scored 15 goals last season.

Prediction

Atlético Madrid 2-0 Getafe. Considering Atlético’s strong home performance and Getafe’s poor away record, the hosts are expected to win comfortably.
