Charlotte Jordan, known for her role as Daisy Midgeley on Coronation Street, has announced her departure from the long-running ITV soap to pursue new opportunities and explore the next chapter in her career. The 29-year-old actress, who won the Best Dramatic Performance award at the 2023 British Soap Awards for her portrayal of Daisy, has been a prominent figure on the show.
Her announcement follows the recent exits of Colson Smith (Craig Tinker), Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw), and Luca Toolan (Mason Radcliffe), along with reports that Sue Devaney’s character, Debbie Webster, is also set to leave the show.
Reflecting on her time on Coronation Street, Jordan expressed her gratitude for the experience, calling it a privilege to be part of such an iconic series and praising her colleagues for their support and the valuable lessons she learned during her tenure.
According to a source from the PA news agency, Jordan decided to leave the show after four successful years as Daisy, informing producers of her decision last April when she signed her most recent contract. This provided ample time for the production and writing teams to craft a dramatic exit storyline, which has already begun unfolding on screen.
Jordan is expected to remain on the show until early summer 2024, giving fans a few more months to enjoy her character’s presence before her final departure.
