Dundalk Granted Licence for 2025 League of Ireland Season

Dundalk FC has received approval to compete in the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division for the 2025 season and confirmed that they will not be participating in the SCARP process. As a result, the club will avoid any points deduction for the upcoming season.

The Louth-based team was granted an additional week to meet the necessary criteria for obtaining the licence, making them the last of the 10 clubs in both the Premier and First Divisions to secure their playing rights for next year.

Club owner John Temple had been working to resolve outstanding financial issues, including unspecified debts at Oriel Park. A statement from the club confirmed that, following the efforts of the Independent Club Licensing Committee, the Football Association of Ireland has awarded Dundalk FC the licence to compete in the 2025 League of Ireland season.
