According to an Exit Poll conducted on November 29, supporters of the Green Party show the highest level of loyalty to their party, while Fianna Fáil voters are most likely to stay with their preferred candidate, regardless of party affiliation.
The poll, commissioned by RTÉ, The Irish Times, TG4, and Trinity College Dublin, and conducted by Ipsos B&A, was carried out at 253 polling stations nationwide, covering all 43 Dáil constituencies. The sample size for the survey was 5,018, with a margin of error of 1.4%.
Participants were asked if they would continue supporting their first-choice candidate if that candidate had run for a different political party. The results revealed that 80% of Green Party voters would switch their support to a different candidate, while only 20% would remain loyal to their original choice.
In contrast, 65% of Fianna Fáil supporters would stick with their candidate, while 34% would vote for someone else. For Sinn Féin voters, 62% would continue supporting the party, and 37% would back another candidate. Finally, 60% of Fine Gael voters would switch their support, while only 40% would stay loyal to the party.
