Man arrested over Adnan Asic murder in Dublin cold case

A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Dublin that occurred over two years ago.

Adnan Asic, a 60-year-old originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina but a long-time resident of Ireland for nearly 30 years, was attacked while walking home after a night out in the Blanchardstown area during the early hours of Saturday, 22 October 2022.

 

He was discovered lying on the ground with severe injuries near a busy junction just before 3 a.m. Emergency services transported him to Connolly Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The man now in custody is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at a garda station in north Dublin.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information from anyone who was in the vicinity of Blanchardstown Road North, Old Navan Road, or the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre between midnight and 3 a.m. on the date of the incident.

 

They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen two men together near the junction of Blanchardstown Road North and Old Navan Road.
