A man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident in Dublin on December 26, where a husband and wife lost their lives. The man, in his 40s, is scheduled to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice District Court tomorrow morning.
Additionally, Gardaí have reported that a woman has been arrested and is currently being detained at a Dublin garda station.
The victims, Anthony Hogg, aged 40, and his 39-year-old wife Georgina Hogg Moore, were struck by a vehicle in Blanchardstown around 5:45 pm on St Stephen’s Day. Ms. Hogg Moore was pronounced dead at the scene, while her husband, who sustained serious injuries, later died at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. The couple is believed to have had two children.
The incident involved four pedestrians, but no other injuries were reported.
Gardaí are continuing to seek witnesses, especially road users or pedestrians who were in the area of Blanchardstown Road North between 5 pm and 6 pm on Thursday, December 26.
