Man Held in Custody for Wexford Murder Investigation

A 34-year-old man is still being held by the Garda in connection with the murder of an eight-year-old girl in County Wexford.

Malika Al Kattib lost her life following an incident at her home in New Ross on Sunday night.

Her mother was also hurt during the incident and has been hospitalized with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The attacker sustained injuries as well. Gardaí believe they have uncovered most of the details about the incident and are pursuing a clear line of inquiry.
