Both pedestrians were struck by a car around 3 a.m. and were immediately transported to Letterkenny University Hospital. One of the men succumbed to his injuries later that day, while the other was airlifted to Galway University Hospital for further treatment.

The driver involved, a male in his late teens, was arrested at the scene and remains in Garda custody. The collision also caused minor damage to a nearby house. Authorities closed the area for a forensic examination, leading to local traffic diversions.
