Murder Investigation Launched After Man in 70s Found Dead Near Dublin-Meath Border

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man’s body in a house near the Dublin-Meath border. The deceased, a man in his 70s, was found at a residence in Tobersool, close to Balbriggan in north county Dublin, around 11 pm last night.

The man had suffered fatal injuries and appeared to have been violently attacked. A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and is currently being held at a Garda station in Dublin.

The scene has been secured, and both the State Pathologist’s office and the Garda Technical Bureau have been notified to conduct further examinations. Gardaí in Balbriggan have set up an incident room, and a senior investigating officer has been assigned to the case.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. It is understood that the victim and the suspect were known to each other.
