The Order is a highly anticipated true-crime thriller starring Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult, set to hit cinemas next week. Directed by Justin Kurzel, known for Nitram and Snowtown, the film tells the story of a white supremacist group’s terrorist campaign in the US during the 1980s. Based on the non-fiction book The Silent Brotherhood by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt, it explores the violent activities of this extremist group.
In the film, Law portrays Terry Husk, an FBI agent investigating a series of bombings and bank robberies, while Hoult plays the group’s leader, Bob Mathews. During the film’s world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in September, Law shared that The Order felt like an important story to tell at this time, drawing connections between past events and present-day issues.
The movie will be released in cinemas on Friday, December 27.
